Every day in the UK, people experiencing homelessness are turned away from hostels and housing because they have a pet. This leaves many with an impossible choice: accept a bed and give up their companion, or stay outside so they can stay together.
Most choose the streets.
At Street Paws, we believe no one should ever have to make that choice. Pets are family. They offer comfort, protection, and love, especially during the toughest times. And yet our housing system still isn’t built to support people and pets together.
The No One Left Outside campaign aims to change this.

Right now, too many people experiencing homelessness are forced to leave their pets behind, even though those animals are often their closest source of comfort, love, and hope.
Our petition to the UK Government asks for pet-inclusive support to be written into homelessness and housing policy so that people and their pets can stay together in shelters and temporary accommodation. Add your name to stand with people and pets who deserve to stay together
We want the Government and Parliament to act as we believe current housing standards don’t protect people with pets.
Pets can provide vital emotional support, reduce stress and loneliness, and help people cope with homelessness. Updating the Social Housing Consumer Standards to require shelters to allow pets could prevent unnecessary relinquishment, and create a fairer, more humane system and ultimately reduce homelessness.
