Make a Difference: Volunteer with Street Paws

Do you love pets and want to make a real impact in your community? Join Street Paws as a volunteer and help support homeless pet owners and their beloved companions.

At Street Paws, our volunteers are the heartbeat of our organisation. Through your time and compassion, you can help preserve the vital bond between homeless individuals and their beloved pets.

Why Volunteer?

Many people experiencing homelessness rely on their pets for companionship and emotional support, but accessing housing and essential services can be a huge challenge. That’s where you come in! By volunteering, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring pets receive veterinary care and their owners get the support they need to stay together. Our Pet Champion Scheme works with hostels to make them pet-friendly.

Volunteer roles

Social Media Volunteer

Creating engaging social media content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok:

  • Designing simple graphics

  • Writing captions that reflect the Street Paws voice

  • Researching awareness days, trends and content ideas

  • Helping create short videos and reels from photos and video clips

  • Supporting fundraising campaigns, events and awareness campaigns with social media content

  • Occasionally helping update our image and video library

What we ask of you

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds—no prior experience required! We're looking for people who are:

  • Compassionate & empathetic – A desire to support both people and animals.

  • Reliable & committed – Able to volunteer regularly, even if just a few hours a month.

  • Good communicators – Comfortable engaging with a variety of people.

  • Team players – Willing to work alongside others to make a difference.

  • Passionate about animal welfare – A love for pets and an understanding of their needs.

  • Comprehensive induction and training

  • Regular support, check-in’s and debriefing opportunities after visits with our Project Coordinator
